- special thanks to Mr. Kenn Glass for information about Ki-27 "J-AJTR"
(Decal Sheet 72-031
"J-BIRDs")
Ken Glass wrote: "I was in contact with Mr. Tony Rigsby of Australia
who had served as a military attache for Australia during a tour of duty
in Thailand. Tony came across several Ki-27 photos while in Thailand...
The purpose of the Rigsby photos was to record the use of the Ki-27
planes during the training of Thai fighter pilots during WWII. I am sure
the Ki-27 markings represent some sort of a training unit. That unit
may not have been based in Japan".

Based on newly found photo, it
is possible that Ki-61 Tei, which is the subject of our decal sheets
#72-005
and #48-003 flew even in more colorful scheme than we originaly suspected.
Here is a new reconstruction of a possible scheme in which it flew with
VMF 322.
